Our Story

Mastery of traditional sushi making with the touch of creativity

Yamesushi began as a humble venture in 2015, bringing delicated take-away sushi to busy commuters at the LRT station. Year after year, we managed to open multiple outlets until the unexpected arrival of the pandemic. Like many businesses, we clung onto the hope that everything would go back to normal. Unfortunately, after months of recurring lockdowns and increasing uncertainty about the future, we made the difficult decision to let go of our physical outlets that we had built from Day 1.

Driven by our love for Japanese cuisine and unwavering passion, we started from scratch by transitioning to an online business. Through this transition, we managed to combine our skills in traditional sushi making with our passion of art. It all began when we received a heartfelt request from a customer who wanted to gift her sashimi-loving sister a sashimi cake. From that moment, we began creating sashimi cakes, sushi platters, playful gift boxes, and festive orders, and we haven't stopped since.

Each sushi gift box carries our commitment to our customers who trust and believe in what we do. In the early days, when our product was still new to the market, the only way to communicate our designs was through our drawings, as there were no similar products for us to use as examples from the beginning and we were grateful on how the community embraced it wholeheartedly!

Today, we continue to grow, inspired by the incredible sense of community that has accompanied us on this journey. Your appreciation toward our artwork makes all the long hours effort worthwhile! We will never forget those who stood by us through thick and thin, whether you're a family member, a friend, or a customer. Know that you are the driving force behind Yamesushi's journey to this very day!
